The women Empowerment scheme initiative put together by the wife of the president Bola Tinubu, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and co-sponsored by the wife of the governor of Osun State, Chief Mrs Titilola Adeleke, has been described as a laudable step towards wealth creation and poverty alleviation among women in Nigeria.
The caretaker chairman, Ede North Local Government, Honourable Taiwo Amodu made this known at a one-day Women Empowerment Vocational training by his wife Alhaja Bashirat Amodu in line with the President’s wife’s initiative at the Local Government Council Secretariat, Ojà Timi, Ede.
The One – Day Vocational training organized for the women was powered by the office of the Chairman assisted by the council management had participants drawn from the eight wards across the Local Government Council Area.
Addressing the participants, wife of the Ede North Local Government Caretaker Chairman, Alhaja Bashirat Amodu commended Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Chief Mrs. Adeleke for putting women welfare at the front burner of their pet project.
She also added that as such initiative was an assurance that women were not being taken for granted in the scheme of things in the country.
The council chairman Honourable Amodu had earlier promised to always provide necessary logistics and incentives to support the programme.
Highlights of the One – Day Vocational Training include guide to various vocations like confectionery making, Micro Business Management scheme and Catering.
