The federal government has distributed ten thousand bags of rice to the people of Oyo state to ensure food security.
This was made known at the official flag-off of the first phase distribution in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
President Bola Tinubu, represented by Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu warned against politicisation of the distribution, noting that the distribution was a quick fix and efforts of the Federal Government to cushion the effects of economic hardship.


President Tinubu assured that palliatives would be distributed from time to time and directed the state’s committee in charge of palliatives distribution to ensure that the items get to the most vulnerable in every nook and cranny of the state.
The beneficiaries of the palliative distribution include Radio Stations in Oyo state.
This move was facilitated by Group Managing Director, Yes FM, Mr Yemi Sonde, Chief Operation Officer, Honor FM, Comrade Seun Awodele and General Manager, Pensioners FM, Dr Babatunde Tiamiyu through National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, Oyo state zone and Society of Nigeria Broadcasters, SNB, Oyo state council.

Present at the event include Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Oyo state council, Comrade Kayode Martins, Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalist, Oyo state council, Mr Ademola Babalola, Traders associations in Oyo state, Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Practitioners Association Of Nigeria (TAMPAN) and Religious Groups.
