The newly formed Association of Retired General Managers and Executive Secretaries in the Ministries, corporations and Agencies of government in Oyo State has elected and sworn – in its pioneer Executives to run the affairs of the Association for the next three years.
The election of the officers was held inside Afolake Odeyemi Boardroom at Pensioners’ FM, Agbarigo, Onireke Ibadan.
According to a statement signed by the Association’s Public Relations Officer, PRO, who is also the immediate past General Manager of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, BCOS, Mr. Goke Adelakun, the new Chairman is Barrister Olusola Orobode, while the Secretary is also a former General Manager, BCOS, Pastor Tunde Ajayi.
Other elected executives include, the Social/ Welfare officer, Alhaja Laide Lasisi and Alhaja Aerat Adesola as the Treasurer.
Accepting the new responsibility shortly after being sworn – in, the Chairman, Barrister Orobode, stated that the Association was borne out of necessity and precedence in order to close existing gaps, ensure inclusivity, foster unity, love and bond, as well as promote common interests of members.
Barrister Orobode thanked the members for the trust and confidence reposed in him through unanimous support of his election, promising to operate with the fear of God.
He solicited the cooperation and advice of members regularly as they collectively embark on the journey of moving the Association forward in tandem with the noble objectives of the Association and overall interest of the State.
According to Mr. Adelakun, the Association of Retired General Managers and Executive Secretaries in the Ministries, corporations and Agencies of government in Oyo State, is another addition to the number of retirees groups under the umbrella of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, Oyo State Council.
