A veteran journalist, Alhaji Bolaji Kareem, has tasked Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ and other stakeholders to be more committed to the welfare of media professionals.
Alhaji Kareem made this known while featuring on Pensioners FM programme, “Grey Hair,” which profiles the past lives of the elderly.
According to the former Commissioner for Works and Transport in Oyo State, some media professionals are being treated as slaves by their employers.
Alhaji Kareem, while stressing the need for owners of media organisations to enable their employed media professionals to be members of NUJ, equally urged members of the fourth estate of the realm to remain dedicated to the profession.
