The Lagelu Indigenes club, LIC, Ibadan has congratulated,His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, Arusa1, on his coronation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan land.
In a statement by the Club’s President, Mr. Soji Ogunsola and Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abiodun Akinkunle, LIC, described the coming of Oba Ladoja as a significant milestone in history of enthronement of Olubadan
According to the Club, the 44th Olubadan with his wealth of experience as all facets of human endeavors would usher in a new era of socio – cultural and economic upliftment for Ibadanland and Oyo state in general.
LIC prayed that reign of Oba Ladoja be marked by wisdom, justice, and prosperity for the people of ibadan land.
The statement wished the new king’s period to be filled with kindness, compassion, and strength, bringing peace and happiness to your kingdom.
Lagelu Indigenes club also called on Oba Ladoja to use his Influence and divine wisdom in bringing unity and peace to all royal fathers in yoruba land.
It expressed the hope that leadership of Oba Ladoja will bring about a new era of growth, unity, and progress for ibadan land, Yoruba race and the entire Nation as a whole.
The club however recalled that, Ibadan had always been at the forefront of liberation of Yoruba land like your fore fathers did in 1840 during the Jalumi war when they fought fulani jihadist to a standstill to free yoruba from intimidation and oppression.
While emphasising that the present day realities the only Jalumi war is to have Ibadan state created during his time, LIC called on Oba Ladoja to use his Influence in attracting more investments to Ibadan land and reduce the menace of land grabbing and sales of ancestral lands in family compounds.
The club also urged His Imperial Majesty, Arusa1 to use his influence to resolve the boundary dispute at Odo Oba between Lagelu Local Government and Iwo Local Government, saying
the dispute has attracted the attention of the National Boundary Commission with verifiable evidences that Odo-oba community and adjourning villages belong to lagelu local government, Oyo state and not Iwo Osun state.
