Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has presented staff and instrument of office to Oba Sakiru Adekola-Oyelere, as the first Onifiditi of Fiditi.
Governor Makinde while presenting the items to Oba Adekola-Oyelere at Fiditi, Afijio local government area, said the selection process of the monarch, demonstrated his government’s commitment to upholding due process in the appointment of leaders.
The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Barrister Bayo Lawal, charged the monarch to turn the resources of the town to profitable ones.
He also encouraged the monarch to collaborate government and people of Fiditi in fostering unity and progress of the town.
Earlier in his address, commissioner for Local Government and Cheiftancy Matters, Ademola Ojo, charged the people of Fiditi to support the monarch.
In his acceptance speech, Oba Sakiru Adekola-Oyelere said his goal is to foster economic growth and create opportunities for all the people of Fiditi.
The ceremony signified a change in chapter of history of Fiditi, that has been installing only Baales since 1875, till the last reign of Amos Ogunkunle, who joined his ancestors in 2008.
