The National Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Association of Social Workers, NASOW, Mr Musiliudeen Adebayo has called on the government to engage more social workers in hospitals, schools and other institutions for psychosocial support.

Mr Adebayo made this known while featuring on Pensioners’ FM Current Affairs Programme, “Trending”.
According to Mr Adebayo, psychosocial support is need in all spheres of life, noting that only social workers could achieve this effectively.
Speaking further on World Mental Health Day, 2023, Mr Adebayo said NASOW played major roles in helping mental health issues in the society, especially in cases of suicide attempt.
The NASOW spokesperson advised the government to create enabling environment for all and find a lasting solution to the economic hardship faced by Nigerians as these would ease stress that could result to mental issues.
He also urged the government and the media to amplify the gospel of the role of social workers.
