The Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has directed the Osun Health Insurance Agency (OSHIA) to commence free enrolment of all persons living with disabilities in the state’s health insurance scheme.
This directive fulfils one of his campaigns promises to operate an all-inclusive government, irrespective of class, religion, or political divide, and demonstrates his determination to deliver qualitative healthcare without hindrance to the people of Osun State.
Governor Adeleke also approved the procurement of aiding equipment needed for persons living with disabilities to make life more comfortable for them.
To this end, the Executive Secretary of Osun Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Rasaq Akindele, has unveiled the timetable for the commencement of the free enrolment of all persons living with disabilities and enjoined beneficiaries to visit their respective local government secretariats and the Area Office in Modakeke for free registration, commencing from Monday, 29th July 2024.
The program is expected to run from Monday, 29th July 2024, to Thursday, 8th August 2024, covering all nine federal constituencies.
Dr. Akindele stressed that the enrolment of persons with disabilities will provide the necessary data and information about their medical conditions and how best to offer them treatment.
Earlier this year, the performing Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, ordered the enrolment of all pensioners into the state insurance scheme for better healthcare delivery. This is another gesture by the government to demonstrate to the good people of our state that the government sincerely cares for their wellbeing.
