He said: “I want to thank you (teachers) for keeping the flag of education flying in the State. In Nigeria today, education in the Oyo state is one of the best.

“I don’t know how to explain the symbiotic relationship between teachers in Oyo state and Governor Seyi Makinde. When the governor wants to mention the group that gave him the fullest support in the just concluded election, there is no other group but Teachers in Oyo state.

“I sincerely want to thank you for that and want you to sustain the relationship.

“If you look at the roadmap to sustainable development, there are four major pillars, which include Education, Health, Security, and Economy. We thank God as Education is being counted as one of the pillars.

“The governor has done so much for Education during the Omititun 1.0, and he will do better during Omititun 2.0.

“I want you to key into the vision and mission of the government. We shall be excited to work with you.

As teachers, you should know that your covenant is with God, not with the government, Ministry of Education and only God can reward you.

“I appreciate you all and promise you that any problem that you may identify, we will solve it together.

“We are resuming on Monday and want you to prepare for the resumption. No matter the challenges, they are not peculiar to your school alone, and we are addressing the challenges. Whatever you are doing, just make sure you do statistics.
