Oyo Govt. Inaugurates Ultra-modern Market in Ogbomosho

Oyo state government says it is working on rejuvenating markets in urban and rural communities into modernised ones.

The Acting Governor of the State, Barrister Bayo Lawal revealed this at the inauguration of an ultra-modern market in Kajola, Ogbomosho South local government area of the state.

The Acting Governor, who expressed the present administration’s readiness to liberalise the economy of the zone, charged the Chairman of the local government to make an appropriate application for extension of the market.

In his welcome address, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Ademola Ojo, said the market that was built to enhance business activities must be well managed and maintained.

Speaking with newsmen, Chairman, Ogbomosho South Local Government area, Mr. Timothy Oyedokun, who labeled the project as phase one, promised to be fair in the allocation of the market, especially to people whose shops were demolished during construction.

In his goodwill message, Onpetu of Ijeru Kingdom, Oba Sunday Oyediran, who commended Governor Seyi Makinde for the landmark project, charged elites and influencers of Ogbomosho to use their position and connection to facilitate development of their locality.

The ultra-modern Kajola market has 120 shops, 80 stalls, abattoir, administrative block and toilets.
