Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has presented 30 units operational vehicles to security outfits in the pace setter state.
Governor Makinde who was represented by the deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, presented the vehicles at the open field of the Governor’s office secretariat, Ibadan.
He presented 15 vehicles to the Nigeria Police Force, 2 to Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, 1 to Nigeria Air force, two for Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority, OYRTMA, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA and hunters group got 1 each, while the Governor ‘s monitoring unit got 8.
Governor Makinde urged the security agencies that benefited from the operational vehicles, to purposely use them to end insecurity in all the 33 local government areas of the state.
Responding on behalf of the security agencies, Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Adebola Hamzat, assured the Oyo State government that the vehicles would be used judiciously.
Also speaking, Special Adviser to Governor Makinde on security, retired CP Fatai Owoseni, said the distribution of the security vehicles was part of the effort of the state in tackling insecurity to the barest minimum.
