The Oyo state government has resuscitated the payment of gratuities for retirees in the state, which has been stopped since last year September.
State Commissioner for Establishment and Training, Honourable Adeniyi Adebisi made this known while receiving the Executive of Nigeria union of Pensioners, Oyo state council and symbolic presentation of cheques to some retirees in his office.


According to Honourable Adebisi, Governor Makinde has released over 200 million naira for payment of gratuities to 2013, 2014 and 2019 retirees.
Honourable Adebisi, therefore solicited for maximum cooperation from the senior citizens in the state for a friendly labour environment .
On his part, Oyo NUP Executive Secretary, Comrade Olusegun Abatan, promised to work with the ministry to ensure a labour friendly state.
Comrade Abatan equally congratulated Honourable Adebisi as he assumed office as the commissioner for Establishment and Training.
He equally advised the beneficiaries not to engage in businesses they have no knowledge about.


Present at the event were Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishment and Training, Mr Olajide Okesade, Director of Pensions and gratuity Board, Mr Mojeed Omotosho, Chairman Oyo NUP, Comrade Isiaka Abolade and Assistant Secretary Oyo NUP, Comrade Banji Koleoso.
