Governor Seyi Makinde says plans are inpalce to commence recruitment exercises for primary school teachers in order to address shortage of manpower across public primary schools in Oyo state.
The Governor who discloses this at a stakeholders consultative meeting for 2024 budget, promises to expand budgetary provisions between 10 – 12 billion naira annually, to upgrade deplorable public schools’ infrastructure.
Governor Makinde who agreed that public primary schools in the state require more manpower and infrastructural upgrade, vows to employ more primary school teachers by first quarter of next year.
He equally assured of a fully functional category 3 upgrade of the 351 primary health centres across that state while pledging to begin enforcement of environmental and sanitation laws to create a serene environment that will be investors friendly.
Expressing concern on the state of infrastructure across the state, Governor Makinde reels out various road projects and interventions his government has embarked upon and promises to kick off reconstruction of 100km inner city roads.
Earlier in a welcome address, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Professor Babatunde Musibau emphasised that the consultative meeting was a serious process for an effective budget.
