The Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo State Council has refuted claims that Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has approved the union’s demand of balance of #32,000 pension increment, Christmas bonus of #50,000 and increment of pension to #60,000 from 2026.
Secretary, Oyo NUP, Comrade Olusegun Abatan in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan, said the speculations are false.
According to Comrade Abatan, the above demands were demanded from Governor Makinde during the 2026 budget meeting, held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan recently.
The Oyo NUP Scribe urged members to be wary of such claims and speculations from the so called “Oyo State Pensioners Platform”.
Comrade Abatan added that such vital information will be passed only by the union.
