The Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Southwest Zone has again appealed to state governors in the zone to expedite the implementation of the 33.4% pension increment of 2010 and consequential pension adjustment of 2019.

Public Relations Officer, NUP Southwest Zone, Comrade Olusegun Abatan made this known at the last quarterly meeting of the union held at Oyo NUP secretariat, Ibadan, Oyo state.
According to Comrade Abatan, the union also called on the state governors to implement it before the end of the outgoing year.
The union said further that the 30,000 naira as least monthly pension could not meet up with the realities of the economy.
Comrade Abatan, who is also Secretary, Oyo NUP, reiterated the need for civil servants to work in harmony with retirees.
The south west NUP while congratulating the newly elected governor of Ondo state, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, appreciated his efforts to welfare of pensioners.

Earlier, the zonal Chairman, Comrade Waidi Oloyede had called for a mutual relationship between NUP and organised labour at various state levels.
Present at the event were chairmen and secretaries of South West states of the union, zonal, Chairman, Oyo NUP, Chief Isiaka Abolade and Assistant Secretary, Oyo NUP, Comrade Banji Koleoso.
