Police Arrest Six over Alleged Sale of Nasarawa Child for N3m

The police in Nasarawa State have arrested six persons over the alleged sale of an eight-year-old boy for N3 million.

The arrests followed intelligence reports indicating that a missing child was being held by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of the Abia State Police Command.

The development was disclosed in a post shared on social media by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

According to the post, the information was received after the boy, identified as Jeremiah Bikwo, was found in protective custody in Abia State.

During questioning, the child told police officers that he was from Loko in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Further investigations revealed that the boy is from Ogobo Village in Loko LGA.

“Detectives then expanded their investigation to Abia State, where it was that the child had allegedly been sold for N3 million,” Makama wrote.

Police sources said six suspects were arrested in connection with the case.

It was gathered that the suspects have confessed to their roles in the alleged trafficking of the child.

The suspects are currently in police custody, while investigations are ongoing to track down other members of the trafficking network.

Police authorities said the rescued child is safe and under protection as efforts continue to ensure that justice is served.
