The vice president of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima says President Bola Tinubu’s Administration is working toward building a synergy between the town and the gown in achieving a new Nigeria that would give a new dawn to youth development in the country.
Vice president Shettima made this known while speaking at the Homecoming and grand reception organised by University of Ibadan Muslim Graduates’ Association, UIMGA held in Ibadan.
Vice President Shettima, represented by the special assistant to the president on special duties, Alhaji Jamiu Abiola, said he was ready to sponsor scholarship programmes and seminars organised by UIMGA for academic excellence among youth.

The Guest speaker, who is a former commissioner of Justice and Attorney General of Oyo state, Barrister Mutaleeb Adebayo-Ojo charged Muslims faithful to show more interest towards addressing the challenges of bad governance.
Speaking on the topic “Religious, Worship, Political participation and governance: is it service to humanity or God”, Barrister Adebayo-Ojo urged Muslims faithful to bring the teaching of leadership traits and fear of Allah into their approach to politics and governance as entrenched in the Holy Quran and sunnah of prophet Muhammed.
Barrister Adebayo-Ojo however, enjoined Muslim faithful to always do their best in enhancing good governance for the benefit of mankind and the society.
Earlier in his remarks, Chairman of the Occasion, Dr Kazeem Adeduntan advised the leadership of the university of Ibadan to encourage students to be involved in entrepreneurship in order to be able to stand on their own after graduation for wealth creation.
In his welcome address, UIMGA President, Alhaji Mojeed Imran who said the association is proud of its members through their achievement and activities so far, highlighted some of the ongoing projects of the Association which include UIMGA Islamic centre, cemetery and scholarship to indigent students.

Among dignitaries at the event include, the Governor of Borno, Professor Babagana Zulum also represented Special adviser on Special duties to the president, Alhaji Jamiu Abiola, the Olowu of Owu, Oba Saka Matemilola, Senator Yunus Akintunde, Professor Musbau Babatunde, Members of UIMGA, a development expert, Mr Mobolaji Ajani and General Manager, Pensioners FM, Dr Babatunde Tiamiyu.
Highlights of the event include Quran recitation, lectures and presentation of awards to some distinguished members of UIMGA who have achieved landmarks in their career and for their contribution to the association.
