GRACED with Partners Set to Advocate against HPV

Grassroots Advocacy Centre for Economic Development, GRACED, a civil society organisation, with the support of Gavi through the International Vaccine Access Center (IVAC) and its Nigerian partners, Direct Consulting & Logistics Nigeria and the Women Advocates for Vaccine Access (WAVA) will rally tomorrow, in Ibadan North LGA, to create awareness on Human Papilloma Virus, HPV Vaccine.

This was made known in a statement by Director, GRACED, Mr. Kolawole Giwa.

According to Mr. Giwa, the purpose is to sensitize the people of Ibadan North LGA on the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) Phase II roll-out of HPV Vaccine for the benefit of girls aged 9-14, to protect them against Cervical Cancer.

Mr Giwa said the rally will start from Agbowo Shopping Complex and pass by Trans Amusement Park to Bodija market, Ibadan where the people will be addressed on how safe, free and effective HPV Vaccines.

On her part, the Individual Youth Representative, Miss Oluwanifemi Ayantunji confirmed that the International Vaccine Access Center ,IVAC in partnership with Direct Consulting and Logistics, DLC and Women Advocate for Vaccine Access, WAVA is also supporting the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA on the introduction of HPV vaccine into the Nigerian Expanded Program on Immunization ,EPI.

Miss Ayantunji added that a rally will also be held tomorrow at Ogunpa market with a walk from Agbeni Market to Dugbe junction.
