Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, Oyo State Council, has promised to partner National Senior Citizen Centre, NSCC, Oyo State Stakeholders Consultative Forum on Ageing, NNSCFOA on the sustainability of its activities.
Secretary, Oyo NUP, Comrade Olusegun Abatan, who was the Chairman made the promise at the launch of “Letica Laniyonu’s Senior Citizens House” by NNSCFOA, in Ibadan.
Comrade Abatan, who lauded the Co-Chair NNSCFOA, and the initiator of “Letica Laniyonu’s Senior Citizens House”, Mrs Kikelomo Edwards, said the centre would contribute to the well-being of senior citizens in the state.

Comrade Abatan also advocated for an establishment of senior citizen homes across the nation.
The Co-Chair, NNSCFOA, Mrs Edwards, appreciated Saint David Cathedral for giving them a space in its premises to create a learning place for the older people.

In her remark, the Director General, NSCC, Dr Emem Omokaro, represented by NSCC’s Head Corporate Affairs, Media and Communication, Mr Omini Oden, urged Governor Seyi Makinde to develop policies on Ageing and partner NSCC on empowerment programmes for older persons.

Dr Omokaro also pledged some exercise equipment for the house.

Dignitaries present were Chairman, Local Government Staff Pension Board, Hon. Akeem Ige, Oyo State Coordinator, National Directorate Employment, Mrs Yinka Steve-Ogundipe and Executive Secretary, Oyo state Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Olusola Akande.
