Prioritise your health – Experts Advise New Retirees of Local Govt. Pension Board

The newly retired primary school teachers and local government staff have been urged to prioritise their health through regular exercise and healthy diet.

This was the charge by Two Health Experts, Dr. Ayodele Busari and Dr. Tunde Aremu at the Local Government Staff Pension Board’s payroll of new retirees, held at local government staff training school secretariat, Ibadan, Oyo state capital.

Speaking on the topic “Post Service Life”, Dr Busari and Dr Aremu noted that creating a structured healthy daily routine would boost life span devoid of avoidable sickness and diseases.

Dr Busari and Dr Aremu also called on the retirees to manage their financial expenses properly after retirement. 

Earlier, Chairman, Local Government Staff Pension Board, Hon. Akeem Ige congratulated the new retirees, urging them to avoid the service of intermediaries in the processing of their retirement benefits.

In his goodwill message, Permanent Secretary, LGSPB, Mr Olufemi Akinwale said the pay rolling would reduce the delay faced by retirees in the past in accessing their entitlement.

Some of the beneficiaries appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde for always prioritising retirees’ welfare.

Highlights of the event were presentation of pension certificates and medical checkup.
