A former Director of Nursing Services, Oyo State Ministry of Health, Mr Taiwo Ajiboye, has urged government to provide more incentives for health workers to stem the tide of japa syndrome.
Mr Ajiboye, made this known in an interview with Pensioners’ FM Correspondent.
Mr Ajiboye also advocated a better working environment, refresher courses and hazards allowances for the nation’s health workers.
He said, “ Nigeria health workers are fantastic! When you see the work in other part of the world, you see that they are excellent, but the environment here is not favourable to them”.
Mr Ajiboye added that seeking for green pasture was not out of place, however, health practitioners abroad can serve as mentors to colleagues back home.
