Minimum Wage: Analysts Urge FG to Reconsider 48,000 naira

Some Public Affairs Analysts, have urged federal government to settle for 100,000 naira and above as a benchmark for new minimum wage.

The Analysts, Mr Adesumbo Badejoko, Mr John Njoku and Mr Kayode Adejumo-Bello made this known while featuring on Pensioners FM Current Affairs programme, Voice of Liberation.

According to them, if the government can spend expensively on lawmakers and appointees, then it can afford a reasonable minimum wage for workers.

Speaking further, Mr Badejoko, Mr Njoku and Mr Adejumo-Bello advised Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and Trade Union Congress, TUC to be vibrant in fighting for the rights of members.

The Analysts reactions followed Organised Labour’s rejection of 48,000 naira proposed by the government and Organised Private Sector.
