The members of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC Oyo State Council, today protested mass sacking of outsourced staff of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, IBEDC at the company’s headquarters, Adeoyo, Ring Road.
Pensioners FM correspondent, who covered the protest, said the development resulted into gridlock at Adeoyo axis.

Oyo NLC Chairman, Comrade Kayode Martins who led the protest, demanded for the immediate reinstatement of the over 3,000 sacked workers by IBEDC.

Comrade Martins lamented that the sacked workers had demanded for salary increment, job security and upgrade to permanent IBEDC staff before they were sacked by IBEDC’S recruiting firm last Saturday.

Meanwhile, in a meeting held this afternoon between NLC and management of IBEDC, the union directed the recruiting firm to hold a meeting with IBEDC management on the way forward to reinstate the over 3,000 sacked workers.
