NULGE Solicits Support for LG Autonomy

The National President of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Comrade Ambali Olatunji has called on government at all levels and relevant stakeholders to support local government autonomy.

Comrade Olatunji made this known while addressing newsmen at the southwest zonal headquarters of the union in Ibadan.

Comrade Olatunji, who was represented by the Vice National President, NULGE, Comrade Abimbola Babalola, said the autonomy would ensure a more vibrant local government system and also address immediate needs of the people at the grassroots.

He said autonomy became a necessity for sustainable development and democratic deepening of the country.

Comrade Olatunji, therefore appreciated President Bola Tinubu for his support for local government autonomy.

Some NULGE leaders at the event were NULGE National Auditor, Comrade Akeem Bello, Oyo State NULGE President, Comrade Ayobami Adeogun, Ondo State NULGE President, Comrade Federick Akinrinola, Ekiti State NULGE President, Comrade Oluwaseyi Olatunde and NULGE Young Workers’ Representative, Comrade Rufus Babalola.
