The Executive Secretary of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, Oyo State Council, Comrade Olusegun Abatan, has appealed to the State Governor, Seyi Makinde to pay pensioners 13th month pension.
Comrade Abatan made this known while featuring on a monitored radio programme in Ibadan.
The Oyo State NUP Scribe, who appreciated Governor Makinde for the payment of last year’s 13month pension which was described as “turkey bonus”, further appealed to the Governor to increase this year’s bonus from the 10,000 due to the economic challenges.
According to Comrade Abatan, since the inception of Governor Makinde’s administration, pensioners in the state have been receiving full pension, which has reduced mortality rate among the retirees.
Comrade Abatan also called on pensioners in the State to continue to support Governor Makinde’s administration.
