Retired Primary School Teachers Hold Get Together in Ibadan

Members of Association of Retired Primary School Teachers, Oyo state, today converged on Ibadan, for their annual get together.

The event was held at Oyo State Pensioners Hall, Onireke, Ibadan.

 Addressing the gathering, Permanent Secretary, Oyo State Local Government Pension Board, Alhaji Lukmon Muraina, called on teachers and retirees not to engage the services of agents in processing of their retirement benefits.

He said this was to avert fraud.

Alhaji Muraina also commended the staff of Pensioners FM for always broadcasting people’s-oriented programmes.

The Secretary of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo State Council, Comrade Olusegun Abatan, called on members of Association of Retired Primary school teachers to always support Oyo NUP in its quest of sorting out pensioners’ entitlements from the state government.

Comrade Abatan also noted that the union would continue to prioritise the welfare of the union.

 Earlier, Chairman of Association of Retired Primary School Teachers, Comrade Dosu Akinpelu, noted that the event was organised to review their activities in the outgoing year.

 Comrade Akinpelu equally commended the leadership of Oyo State NUP for their steadfastness in championing the welfare of members.

Comrade Akinpelu also implored members to always attend meetings for the growth of the association.
