The Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP southwest zone has called on Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, PTAD to intervene in finding lasting solution to the hardship being faced by pensioners who had pension accounts with the defunct Heritage bank.
The Public Relations Officer of the union, Comrade Olusegun Abatan made the call while addressing newsmen at the quarterly southwest zonal meeting held in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
According to Comrade Abatan, the affected pensioners have been deprived of the payment of their pensions since the licence of the bank was revoked.
He said this has been having untold hardship on the retirees.
Comrade Abatan appealed to the affected pensioners to exercise patience, noting the union has sought the attention of PTAD.
The Central Bank of Nigeria had on 3rd of June last year revoked the licence of Heritage Bank.
