The Southwest zone pensioners under the aegis of Nigeria Union of Pensioners Contributory Pension Scheme, NUPCPS have staged a peaceful protest in Ibadan.
NUPCPS said the protest was on the withholding of their shortfall entitlements worth over 8 billion naira by the former Director of National Salary and Wages Commission, Alhaji Ibrahim Bakare.
The Chairman, NUPCPS Southwest Zone, Chief Joseph Oyadiran made this known to Pensioners’ FM correspondent.

According to him, the shortfall entitlement emanated from National Pension Commission, PENCOM erroneously documenting its members’ pension on federal government civil service salary scale, instead of Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Salary Scale Structure CONTISS and Harmonised Tertiary Institutions Salary Structure, HATISS.

Chief Oyadiran noted that the issue earlier reported to Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC and Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, with no response was again today tabled at the corruption agencies.

Also speaking, Chairman, NUPCPS Ogun state chapter, Comrade Joseph Adewoyin and other members’ urged President Bola Tinubu to call for the investigation of Alhaji Bakare.
They describe their plight as a cheat which warrants punishment.
