Two Public Affairs Analysts have suggested 100, 000 naira to the federal government as the new minimum wage for workers.
The analysts, Dr Yemi Farounbi and Hon. Femi Adebisi’s suggestion followed yesterday’s proposal of 62,000 naira as the minimum wage after a meeting by the tripartite committee.
They said this while featuring on Pensioners FM current affairs programme, Voice of Liberation.
According to Dr Farounbi, who is a former Nigerian Ambassador to the Philippines and Hon. Adebisi, 62,000 naira ought not to be an offer as a minimum wage, considering President Bola Tinubu’s promise of living wage for workers.
Dr Farounbi and Hon. Adebisi called on the government to find a holistic approach in solving the issue of the new minimum wage, and sympathise with labour unions in their push for better welfare for workers.
